2015-2016
1:1 Technology Changes •K-3rd grade student iPads will stay at school for instructional use. •4th-8th grade students assigned Chromebooks can continue to take device home. •Parents will be strongly encouraged to purchase insurance for students using Chromebooks. Those who paid $25 last year at FHSA can apply the $25 toward the $29 Chromebook insurance fee (for this year only). Insurance provides device protection for accidental damage and more. Details coming soon... PREPARATIONS FOR DEVICE ASSIGNMENT Students will be using technology in our PLTW Elementary Launch Program, PLTW Gateway Labs, elementary and middle school virtual labs and all classrooms. Technology 1:1 devices will be implemented over the next few weeks and lessons prior will prepare them for effectively caring, maintaining, and using appropriate digital citizenship skills. This will include the Gaggle Cybersafety Course. Devices will be assigned in stages to the various grade levels. Stay tuned for more details and upcoming parent meetings! |
